12月17日，前Meta CTO、传奇程序员John Carmack在社交媒体上发文宣布辞去Meta VR执行顾问一职，结束其十年的VR旅程。John Carmack首先表达了对Quest 2这款产品的肯定，但仍表示当看到最终销售的VR头显系统仅有5%的GPU利用率时令他非常痛苦，感觉自己被严重冒犯了。此外，John Carmack明确表达了对Meta运营效率低下以及公司内部斗争严重情形的失望。
