据相关报道，2022 年MTV音乐录影带奖将推出一个全新的自子类别“最佳元宇宙表演奖”（Best Metaverse Performance），六位艺术家将获得提名，包括：Ariana Grande（Fortnite）、Blackpink 的“The Virtual”（PUBG Mobile）、BTS（YouTube）、Charli XCX（Roblox）、“Justin Bieber – An Interactive Virtual Experience”（Wave）和“Twenty One Pilots Concert Experience”（Roblox）。
