According to the distribution of computing power, the overall network difficulty of Bitcoin has reached a historic high of 17.35T. With the continuous rise in BTC prices and the setting of new lows for the year, there has been an increase in demand for mining machines. In September 2018, Bitmain announced on its official website that it planned to reduce production starting on October 15th. It is expected to experience a slight decrease by the end of December but will still maintain the current state until the beginning of 2021 when mining will be gradually restored to the original Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithm workload.

Based on the current Bitcoin network hash rate of approximately 3 exahash per second, it is roughly equivalent to a 1080Ti. (Please note that the block size and current block time are not the same level, so we need to redesign some software to solve the problem). This means that if a node wants to increase its Bitcoin mining capacity and continue to maintain the workload production status, it must first upgrade its CPU. Otherwise, it will cause a drop in the price of Bitcoin, which may happen later this year.

In addition, the network capacity of Bitcoin is also growing. The Ethereum network already has more than 30 million independent data centers, which can accommodate more cryptocurrency storage space. Therefore, the demand for Bitcoin mining hardware is constantly increasing.

1080ti Calculation Parameters

According to reports, the calculation parameters of 1080ti computing power have been released today, based on data from OKLink mining pool.

This data is calculated and displayed by BTC.com, AntPool, and OKExResearch, showing that the current overall network Bitcoin mining difficulty is about 10.78T. The overall network difficulty of Ethereum is currently 107.37T (-1.6%), staying at a high level before the halving. Additionally, according to the latest data from Blockchair, as of around 16:30 Beijing time on August 18th, the overall network difficulty of Bitcoin has reached a historic high of 108.38P.
